Wines Horizon

Émilien

The estate’s classic cuvée, aged for one year in foudre and another in old barrels. The 2021 sheet describes a Merlot-led blend with Cabernets, Malbec and Carménère.

Terroir

The Saint-Cibard limestone plateau at 110 metres, with clay, flint and limestone and vines around fifty years old.

Winemaking

Hand harvesting and full destemming; two to four weeks of fermentation with indigenous yeasts, without chaptalisation. One year in large oak vats followed by one year in old barrels; unfined and unfiltered. Documented blend for the 2021 vintage: 85 % Merlot · 7 % Cabernet Sauvignon · 6 % Cabernet Franc · 1 % Malbec · 1 % Carménère. These proportions do not apply automatically to other vintages.

Tasting

Garnet colour, fresh cherry and meadow flowers, with a juicy, saline palate.
